"User Type" refers to the categorization of users based on specific permissions within the HelixIntel platform. These types define varying levels of access, functionality, and privileges, depending on the user's role.
Predefined User Types
For instance, Equipment Operator users on the HelixIntel platform can be placed into one of three predefined categories:
- Admin: Admin users have full capabilities, allowing them to see and do everything in the account.
- Manager: Similar permissions to admin, but can be restricted to a location.
- Standard: Standard users can add and edit equipment, properties, tasks, requests, etc. However, they cannot manage users, create PM schedules or approve work request.
- Requester: Can submit work requests, location reservation requests or trip requests depending on site configuration settings.
- Read-Only: Read-Only users can view select company data but cannot take any actions.
- Driver: Only available when Fleet Management is enabled, allows users to complete inspections & submit issues related to Fleet.
Benefits of User Types
User types help ensure security, data privacy, and proper user management. By assigning appropriate permissions and access levels to each user type, the platform safeguards sensitive information and prevents unauthorized actions.
Custom User Types
Additionally, companies can create their own custom user types with a tailored set of permissions. Examples include Technician, Maintenance, Groundskeeper, etc.
