We've built our work order management tool in such a way so that users can easily track the status and progress of their work requests.
In addition to setting their desired notification preferences, which allow users to determine which work order management notifications they receive and where (in-app, email, SMS), we enable users to:
1. Track all their work request's activity in the "History" section
2. Communicate with the team via the commenting functionality
