A work item is a work assignment for an internal team member to complete or fulfill. Work items can be related to equipment, vehicles, parts, or locations.
There are four types of work items -
- WO: Work Orders - approved work requests.
- PM: Preventive Maintenance - work that's generated by PM schedules on a predefined basis.
- Task: Tasks - ad hoc work that can be created at any time and does not require a formal approval/review process.
- FM: Fleet Management - work that's generated from Fleet Management, either a failed inspection item or reporting an issue.
Some common examples of work items include:
- Monthly HVAC maintenance
- Replacing an air filter
- Taking out the trash
- Vehicle oil change
- Fixing a piece of equipment
- Conducting an inspection
- Etc.
