HelixFleet is accessible to Admins, Managers, Standard users, Requesters, Read-Only users, and a new default user type - Drivers. Here's a quick breakdown of what each role can do within Fleet Management:
Admin: Full access to everything — vehicles, drivers, inspections, trips, the dashboard, and all fleet settings. Can create trips with no review process. No restrictions.
Manager: Full access to everything — vehicles, drivers, inspections, trips, the dashboard, and all fleet settings. Can create trips with no review process. No restrictions (except location-based restrictions configured by an admin).
Standard: Can view and manage vehicles, view fuel logs, and submit trip requests.
Requester: Can submit trip requests.
Read-Only: Has read-only access to vehicles, drivers, trips, fuel logs, inspections, inspection templates, and driver assignments.
Driver: Scoped to their own assignments and activity. Drivers complete inspections for every trip they're assigned and can log fuel and report issues when needed. In addition to their Driving Assignments page, they have access to the Trips, Inspections, and Fuel Logs pages — but only see records associated with them. No access to other vehicles, other drivers, or manager-facing views.
We'll be adding additional user types in the future, so stay on the look out for those. In the meantime, if you need a custom permission configuration, that can be set up via the Custom Permissions functionality.
