Inspection templates live on the Inspection Templates page within Fleet Management. Fleet inspection templates work similarly to other templates in HelixIntel, with a few item types added specifically for vehicle inspections.
To create a new template, navigate to Inspection Templates, click New, and select the inspection type — Pre-Trip or Post-Trip.
From there, you can build out your template. When adding items, you'll have a couple field types to choose from:
- Pass/Fail — the standard item type for vehicle inspections. Drivers tap Pass or Fail for each one, and failures prompt for notes and a photo.
- Alphanumeric Text — useful for fields like hour meter readings or driver observations.
Once saved, the template will be available for assignment to vehicle types or specific vehicles, and will appear in the driver's inspection flow for any trips it's associated with.
